Orange Door
Digital Art
(Ht 282 x W 400mm)
September 2002
You stand in a room
facing two windows
and a central door.
Your eye is firstly
drawn to the bright
orange. Next you
look at the two
arches either side.
Are these windows to
a landscape that lays
on the other side of
the door or are these
just wall paintings?
The floor could be
solid marble, a bit
dusty or could it be
liquid? The influence
for this picture came
from a painting by
Burne-Jones.

16 Orange Dots
Digital Art
(Ht 282 x W 400mm)
August 2002
This image looks into a
room partly hidden by a
wall with a closed door.
You can see a faint
image of what is behind
the wall, you want to
look around the wall into
the room but your gaze
is met by a face looking
back at you. Is the face
menacing or friendly?.
The blue transparent feel
adds to this tension. The
orange dots top and
bottom were added to
frame the view and to
contain your view within
the image. What does
the image mean? This is
up to the viewer to
decide.

The Wait
Digital Art
(Ht 420 x W 264mm)
September 2003
You, the viewer, are sitting
at the table. What are you
waiting for? A guest? A
waiter? Or are you the
waiter, waiting for a
customer?
Time appears to stand still
when you are waiting, but
its passage is shown in
various ways;- the digital
clock above the door, the
clock face appearing on
the table, the roses fading
on the tables, life passing
by outside, the hands of
the clock whizzing around,
the subtle cracking like
ageing skin on the surface
of the image.

Fire Leaves
Digital Art
(Ht 252 x W 210mm)
November 2001
Autumn is captured with
it’s bright reds and
yellows. The main part
of this image is of a
single yellow leaf
contrasted against a dark
grey brick pavement.
Another photograph of
leaves has been blended
into the background and
the colour saturation
increased to give a fiery
background that gives
the image more depth

Sky Pirate
Digital Art
(Ht 296 x W 208mm)
June 2002
The aircraft was a
Buccaneer that last saw
action in the Gulf war
and is now a grounded
museum exhibit. Simon
wanted to create an
image of it still in flight
with the sunlight giving
it a ghostly feel. The
name Sky Pirate came
from the image painted
on its side by its former
wartime crew.
